About the internet speed test
This speed test measures how fast your connection really is right now — download, upload, ping, and jitter — by moving real data to and from Cloudflare's nearest edge location. It's the same path your transfers take, so the upload figure tells you what to expect when you send something big.
Upload speed is the number that matters for sending files, and on home broadband it's usually far lower than download. A 5 GB transfer takes about half an hour at 20 Mbps up, and a few minutes at 100 Mbps. Run the test, then plan around the result. Free, no account, nothing to install.
